Conversation Service helps users manage chats after they are created. Use the sidebar for quick access to recent and starred conversations, or use the Recent page to search, filter, organize, share, export, and delete conversations.

Entry Points#

DEEIX Chat exposes existing conversations in several places. The sidebar is for quick switching; the main navigation Recent page is for broader management.

Entry pointBest for
Sidebar RecentQuickly open recent conversations in the Default group.
Sidebar StarredReturn to important conversations; when there are more than 5, open the full starred search dialog.
Project groupsView conversations that have been moved into projects.
Main navigation RecentOpen All conversations for search, filters, bulk organization, and deletion.
Current conversation pageContinue chatting and manage the current conversation title, star, share, export, archive, or deletion state.

Opening a conversation takes you back to the chat page. As long as the conversation is kept, you can continue the thread, review history, and use conversation-level actions.

The sidebar Recent section shows recent conversations that are not in a project, not archived, and not starred. Conversations moved into a project appear in that project group; starred conversations appear in the Starred section.

Each sidebar row has a more-actions menu for rename, star or unstar, move to project, Share & Export, archive, and delete.

If you archive or delete the conversation you are currently viewing, the page returns to a blank chat entry so you do not stay on a conversation that was moved away or removed.

All Conversations#

The main navigation Recent item opens All conversations. This page loads historical conversations in batches and continues loading as you scroll down.

At the top, you can search conversations and filter by status, starred state, share state, and project. Filter combinations are useful when you need, for example, only archived conversations, only shared conversations, or only conversations inside one project.

FilterPurpose
StatusSwitch between all, active, and archived conversations.
StarredShow only starred or unstarred conversations.
ShareShow only shared or unshared conversations.
ProjectShow all, Default, or one project.

Search matches conversation ID, title, labels, and model name. It does not search message bodies or file content. If older conversations have not been loaded yet, scroll further to load them before searching again.

The list is grouped by project. Unassigned conversations appear under Default, and project conversations appear under their project. Row icons indicate archived, starred, and shared state.

Rename#

Use Rename when the generated title is too vague, too long, or no longer matches the topic. Prefer short task-focused titles such as Vendor contract review, Q2 usage analysis, or Landing page copy draft.

Renaming only changes the displayed title. It does not rewrite chat messages, attachments, model records, share snapshots, or project membership.

Star Conversations#

Star conversations you expect to revisit often, such as long-running tasks, recurring reports, active customer issues, or important reference threads.

A star is only a personal organization shortcut. It is not approval, publication, or a permission change. Remove stars when conversations no longer need fast access.

Archive Conversations#

Archive conversations that are finished but still worth keeping. Archived conversations leave the normal active list, but you can find and restore them from the archived filter in All conversations.

Archiving is not deletion. It does not clean up files, revoke shares, or change project membership. Deletion, share closure, and file cleanup are separate decisions.

Share Conversations#

Sharing creates a public viewing link for the current conversation. In the share dialog, you can create a link, copy it, open it, close sharing, or regenerate a new link.

DEEIX Chat share conversation dialog

Sharing works like a snapshot: when the link is created or regenerated, DEEIX records the current title, model, and visible conversation content. Closing a share makes existing links inaccessible; regenerating also invalidates the old link.

Before sharing, check for customer data, personal information, account details, secrets, contracts, payment details, internal decisions, or private files. If the link can be opened externally, treat it as public content.

Signed-in users can clone a public share. Cloning copies visible messages and related files, but copied files still count against the cloning user storage quota.

Export Conversations#

Export JSON downloads the current conversation as a JSON backup file. The filename includes the conversation title and export time. The export includes conversation metadata, messages, run records, and the default visible branch data.

This export is best for backup, review, archival, or technical troubleshooting. It is not a guaranteed import format. Once exported, the file is outside normal in-app access controls.

Conversations containing customer, contract, account, payment, or personal information should be exported only when policy allows it.

Delete Conversations and Files#

Delete a conversation only when you no longer need it. Deletion is different from archiving: archiving keeps history out of the active list, while deletion removes the conversation from normal records.

The delete confirmation can also select files in the conversation for cleanup. Even when selected, DEEIX only deletes files no longer referenced by other active conversations. Files still used elsewhere remain available.

If you usually want file cleanup when deleting conversations, enable the default option in conversation settings. For important files or collaborative work, still check whether files are used by other conversations before deletion.

Bulk Organization#

All conversations supports selection mode. After selecting multiple conversations, you can archive or unarchive them, close share links for selected shared conversations, or delete selected conversations.

Bulk deletion uses the same file cleanup choice as single deletion. The rule is also the same: only files not referenced by other active conversations are deleted.
